Sources: 49ers Guard Alex Boone Will Be Training Camp Holdout Unless New Deal Is Done – Yahoo Sports

(USA TODAY Sports) The San Francisco 49ers and guard Alex Boone remain far apart on terms for a new contract, and Boone won’t attend the start of the team’s training camp on Wednesday unless a deal is made, multiple sources familiar with the situation told Yahoo Sports. It’s unclear the amount of a salary raise Boone is seeking. What is clear is one serious holdup in the team and player getting a deal done is related to where the two sides believe Boone should be rated among starting guards in the league.

Report: Texas RB Johnathan Gray ready to do more workouts | CollegeFootballTalk

According to Fowler, Gray has been working out for a while now but this latest development will allow him to try to do more regular workouts without holding back as much. Gray saw his 2013 season come to an end last season when he tore hisright achilles in an overtime win against West Virginia in November. He rushed for 780 yards and four touchdowns. Both were good for second on the Longhorns in 2013, with Malcolm Brown leading the team in both rushing categories.
